Douglas Archibald specialises in the role of developing effective networks to support school and education system transformation. 

After developing an early start up, Douglas started his consulting career as a Manager in Accenture's Human Performance practice in London, specialising in change management, implementation and knowledge management. He then went on to lead the development of the Knowledge and Innovation Network at Warwick Business School to become one of the world's leading networks on knowledge management and spreading good practice. 

He started his work in schools and education at the Innovation Unit, where he became a Partner and contributed to the early formation of the Global Education Leaders Partnership, before becoming consultant Executive Director at Whole Education. During his tenure Whole Education was recognised in OECD’s Innovative Learning Environments study and by UK’s Parliamentary Select Committee, as an exemplar in scaling innovative practice.

His consulting clients on developing effective networks and communities of practice have ranged from the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), UK Office of the Deputy Prime Minister, the Chartered College of Teaching and the Asia Society.

Douglas’ work on network effectiveness was published in Harvard Business Review (‘Harnessing your staff’s informal networks’) and is in HBR’s Top 10 Reads on Collaboration.
